Starting the nursery!

Well, I will be 27 weeks in a few days! Today I am cleaning out the soon to be nursery, which means I have to sort through all of Marks clothes. This is quite the task, as he has so many clothes!!! lol. He was using the closet and dressers in the room for all his stuff, but now he is being booted out- which means I have to share my closet and dresser...lol. Anyways, I have been dreading this part, but it must be done! I am actually almost done and took a quick break.  Later Mike and I are going to go get the paint, and get started on the room! We are going to paint the room a light aqau, and put up this beadboard wallpaper on the bottom part.  Mark really wants butterflies and I really like birds, so I think we are going to incorporate both into the room. Next we need some carpet then we will be able to set up the crib and dresser/changing table.  Then onto rugs, drapes, lamps, and wall decor. Nurseries are so much fun to decorate and prepare.  I can't wait to start washing all her little clothes and putting them in her dresser! OH! And the baby shower is in a few weeks, which means we need plenty of space for all the new fun things for baby! Mark and I always marvel at how much space a tiny little baby can take up!! :)

Here is a link to the Beadboard wallpaper!.  We got ours at Lowes, for about $20.00 a roll. Not sure how many rolls we will need, but I am guessing about 2-3.   Then we have to trim it with the wood trim when we are finished. I am excited to get this project started. I will keep you all updated!!

Marco Island

So a few weeks ago we took a family vacation down to Marco Island, FL.  We had such a great time.  We rented a pontoon boat, went on an airboat ride through the ten thousand islands, went to Tigertail beach, the pool, and had some really great seafood.  Mike LOVES the beach, and building in the sand, as well as riding the waves.  We did not see any alligators :( BUT, we did see dolphins!!! The area is very quiet but we kept ourselves very busy!! Mike went jet skiing for the first time, and loved it! He really loves the water and the beach.

So I decided to write a blog to keep people updated on our lives!! Facebook is starting to creep me out, how do they know where you are when you update your status??? Lol. Anyways, we have lots going on in our life right now! Michael will be five this fall, and we are expecting a little girl August 31st. Mark and I have been busy coming up with ideas for her nursery, and we have finally settled on a theme, and colors, and maybe even a name!!!! Yay!! So we are going to transform our extra bedroom into baby girl heaven within the next few weeks. We are starting with aqua paint followed with white beadboard wallpaper on the bottom. We are very excited to start! I will post pictures along the way! Michael is out of school for the summer, and keeping mom busy! He is starting pre-k in the fall, 5 days a week. I am so proud of him, he is getting to be such a big boy, and taking his job as big brother very seriously! Mark is already wrapped about his daughters little finger. He is such a good dad, I just love him!! Ok, well off to garden. :)
